An Invitation

God's Gift to Us: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" (John 11:25-26)

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

The invitation to accept Jesus' offer of forgiveness is the most important consideration you will ever make. Your eternal destiny hangs on that choice!

Jesus' death on the cross, His burial, and resurrection is our guarantee of complete forgiveness if we will turn to Him and accept His gracious offer.

How does a person accept the Lord's invitation?

1. Believe that what Jesus said about you is true: "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Confess your sins to God and agree with Him about your need for forgiveness.

2. Receive Jesus into your life by telling Him that you believe that He is your Savior and Lord. Confess to Him your faith in His death on the cross for your sins, that He was buried, and on the third day He rose again. Tell Him you believe He is alive today and you want Him to live in you.

3. Commit yourself to follow Him as Lord. Ask Him to teach you His Word and pledge to follow Him wherever He leads. Thank Him for the gift of eternal life that He paid for with His own blood.

4. Tell others what God has done for you and learn more about following Jesus Christ as His disciple through baptism, reading the Bible, and getting involved in a good Bible-teaching church.

Pray something like this from the sincerity of your heart.

Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe you died on the cross for my sins, was buried, and rose from the grave. I believe you are alive today, and invite you to live in me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life to you. I pledge to follow you wherever you lead. I receive you as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you for the gift of eternal life through your blood on the cross. Thank you Lord Jesus for saving me. Amen!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

If you have prayed this prayer or something similar from your heart, you are now Born Again. Praise God! Now, it is very important that you share your commitment with fellow Christians. Talk with a pastor and discuss how you can grow in your new spiritual life. Prayer is how you communicate directly with God, pray often. The Bible is our instruction manual for Christian living, read it daily. And finally, find a Bible teaching church. Choosing the right church is probably the most important thing you do moving forward in your new Christian life. Because the church is not the building or structure, but the body of believers within. Christian fellowship is essential for spiritual growth and accountability. Becoming a Christian is easy, living a Christian life is the hard part. We need encouragement, support, correction, and guidance from other believers for us to grow the way God wants us to grow.

As your new brother I invite you to contact me anytime. May God Bless you always.

Your Brother in Christ,
Paul Nadon <><
